The Night Before Rescue

Boston is a Tennessee Titan fan.

Boston is such a sweet boy!

The Night Before Rescue

Santa works quietly in mysterious ways
He stops by shelters and picks up strays.
He knows the names of those who care
And places dogs in rescue so volunteers beware.

He slips past the hustle and bustle and strife
To find a perfect family to foster this  life.
They feed and they love this new rescued pup
And wait for a forever family to pick them up.

There are too many stops like this one you see
People discarding their pets and setting them free.
But just when you think there is no hope for this pup
A wonderful rescue  volunteer steps up .

It takes a lot of people to carry out this dream
From intake to fosters to the home visiting team.
So maybe it wasn't Santa that worked in mysterious ways
But a group of rescue folks that saved us that day.

Take a Chance on Me

I didn't want to have to brag or anything, but just take a look at this handsome boy.  Tall, lean, long floppy ears and a shiny coat.  What more could you ask for?  Oh, and I don't have to go in the crate anymore.  I get to roam the house while my foster mom and dad are at work.  I have never had an accident in the house, and I don't plan to anytime soon.  I have now fostered three Golden Retrievers, and I am beginning to get a complex.  Come on now, won't you take a chance on me?

Boston Update

Boston loves being with his foster family, but he should would like his own family.  He has a sweet personality and loves being around people. He is crate trained, potty trained and does great with kids and gets along with other dogs.  Oh, and he is a very handsome boy too.

Please look at Boston!

Please look at Boston for a long time.
He's stayin' here with some friends.
And they've got lots of room.
You can see from the posts on his blog
By his smile he hopes to be adopted soon.
Please think about Boston.
They said, "yes.
Won't you come home to me?"

And they said, "Hey sweet boy,
Are you ready to settle down?
Boston is my kind of dog.
There ain't no Danes and
There ain't nobody like me.
I'm your number one fan
Of the boy from Tennessee.

Please come to get me before the snow fall.
We'll go for long walks in the park
That we can't be found.
And throw "I found you" echoes around town
And then lie awake at night until they come back around.
Please come to see me.
They said, "Yes.
Boston, would you come home with me?"

And they said, "Hey sweet boy,
Are you ready to settle down?
Boston is my kind of dog.
There ain't no Danes and
There ain't nobody like me.
I'm your number one fan
Of the boy from Tennessee.

Boston wins an award!

Boston won "The longest tail" award today at the Wag's n Whiskers walk in Olive Branch today.  He had a great time meeting other Great Danes.  He and Moe (our Golden foster) had a great time together.

Boston update

We took Boston by the Vet's office today to get weighed.  He weighed in at 110 lbs. He has been keeping busy at his foster home.  He went for a walk this morning and he is now helping with house work.  He enjoys watching baseball and football.  He can't wait until the Titans play tomorrow.

Boston update

Boston has settled in at his new foster home.  He is such a sweet boy.  He loves being around people and he is trying to get Karma to play.  He is really curious and loves to follow you into every room and look in every closet, drawer, or cabinet.  He does not get anything, he just likes to look. He also likes to get in the bath tub and shower.  He just gets in, looks around, and gets back out.

Meet Boston

Yes, you did read the heading correctly.  We are fostering a Great Dane.  He is 3 years old and he found himself at a high kill shelter.  The North Mississippi Great Dane Rescue gave this boy a second chance.  It has been very interesting with a big boy like Boston.  He loves to explore and he is just a gental giant.
